Laut Vorabbericht des "Manager Magazins" vom Montag verfügen 108 Einzelpersonen oder Familien über ein geschätztes Vermögen von mindestens einer Milliarde Euro. Im vergangenen Jahr seien es noch 91 gewesen. Der Wert der 100 größten deutschen Vermögen sei in den vergangenen zwölf Monaten um 6,5 Prozent auf 307,35 Milliarden Euro gestiegen. 2010 lag die Summe bei 287,35 Milliarden Euro.

Reichster Mann Deutschlands bleibt danach der 91 Jahre alte Aldi-Gründer Karl Albrecht. Seine Familie verfügt laut der Rangliste "Die 500 reichsten Deutschen 2011" des Magazins über ein Vermögen von geschätzten 17,20 Milliarden Euro. Mit 16 Milliarden Euro auf dem zweiten Platz folgen Berthold und Theo Albrecht jr., die Erben des im vergangenen Jahr gestorbenen Theo Albrecht. Auf Platz drei kommt Lidl-Eigentümer Dieter Schwarz mit 11,5 Milliarden Euro. [...]
